    Talking Mikoshi togyo

    Today's was the time to take Tomioka Hachimangu's god for a walk in the streets of central Tokyo. The event is known as Mikoshi Togyo ( _—`“nŒä) and took place this 3rd August 2003. Tomioka Hachimangu's main Mikoshi, one of Tokyo's largest, 4 tonnes (!), was carried from the Imperial Palace in Marunouchi through Otemachi and Nihombashi to Tomioka Hachiman Shrine, then continue to Kiba and Toyocho and back again at Tomioka Hachiman at 5pm.
