    Japan Communists' drinking ban

    Japan Communists' drinking ban

The Japanese Communist Party has announced it will reinforce a decades-old drinking ban following an embarrassing sexual harassment scandal.
Mr Shii said the rule, which was drawn up after the party suffered a number of drinking scandals in the 1970s, requires members to notify the party in advance if they are planning to consume alcohol at private functions outside the home.

About 1,000 people are expected to be affected by the ban.
    Funny commies...

The amount of interference people will put up with in their private lives in this country is sometimes truly Orwellian.

How much wheight does the Japanese Communist Party has anyway?

In 27 yers here in Portugal, the CP has gone from a major player to a bashfull extra, looking from time to time to comrade Fidel for (bad) examples to follow.

The Portuguese PC throughs great parties, though.
