    Exclamation M6 earthquake hits Miyagi prefecture

    A powerful eartquake has rattled most of Eastern and Northern Japan a few minutes ago. NHK announces a M6 earthquake in/near Sendai with risks of tsunami. The tremor was felt until Tokyo (M3 or 4) where it shaked for over 1min.

    Felt pretty bad. Our building wouldn't stop swinging.

    6.8 quake strikes northeastern Japan, tsunami warning issued

    Has just been updated to a magnitude of 7.2. 27 persons injured so far.

    Must have been fairly strong - we felt it in Sapporo.

    The eartquake is now estimated to have been of magnitude 7.2.
