    prices

Actually Rome is the most expensive in Italy....
I don't know Tokyo prices from the last economic journal
in Rome the price in the centre (nice areas) are from 9000 per square meter
so an appartment of 100mt cost 900.000 euros....
so it should be 140.500.000 yen

from 5000 to max 7000 yen....for electronics in akihabara
some of the guys of my group mad a good purchase and save a lot of money for cameras mp3 and notebook....
what is more expensive for us are transports... but my daily
expenses for meals and bevarage was less than 15.000 yen per day
In Rome, where I live a medium price for a meal (acceptable) is
15-20 euros (per meal) eve a simple pizza and coke seated at a table costs around 10 euros so around 15.000 yen.
Perhaps the high cost of the life there are houses (to buy) I guarantee
you that in Rome or Milan for a small appartment to rent downtown
is not less than 100.000 yen but it is difficolt to find....
your counting method is at least funny..and you must be bloody rich if you dont notice. 1 euro = 151 yen.
    this 15.000 yen / 151 = 99.9 euros
I buy my meal with average 700 yen. And it is still much cheaper than eating in restaurant in europe.

Maybe I am wrong...just.. 15000 is 10 euros..you know how rich I would be in this country if that would be true... Japanese post office speaks different language though.

You're right about train fares, but what sort of food are you referring to? Stuff in supermarkets is much, much cheaper in London than Tokyo. You can be a sack of 20 apples for the price of 1 apple in Tokyo. A giant, custy, tasty loaf of bread cost the equivalent of 140yen (enough for 3 slices of white pap in Tokyo.) A huge bag of mushrooms costs less that a shrink-wrapped pack of 6 rubbery mushroom-like things. A bunch of 6 bananas costs the same as 1 shrink-wrapped banana. A 1Kg sack of spuds (potatoes) costs less than a shrink-wrapped pack of 4, small spud-like things...
