Actually Rome is the most expensive in Italy....
I don't know Tokyo prices from the last economic journal
in Rome the price in the centre (nice areas) are from 9000 per square meter
so an appartment of 100mt cost 900.000 euros....
so it should be 140.500.000 yen
is not my counting method is from Yahoo finance

well my facts come from http://www.forex.fi/
Maybe I am wrong...just.. 15000 is 10 euros..you know how rich I would be in this country if that would be true... Japanese post office speaks different language though. :okashii:
You're right about train fares, but what sort of food are you referring to? Stuff in supermarkets is much, much cheaper in London than Tokyo. You can be a sack of 20 apples for the price of 1 apple in Tokyo. A giant, custy, tasty loaf of bread cost the equivalent of 140yen (enough for 3 slices of white pap in Tokyo.) A huge bag of mushrooms costs less that a shrink-wrapped pack of 6 rubbery mushroom-like things. A bunch of 6 bananas costs the same as 1 shrink-wrapped banana. A 1Kg sack of spuds (potatoes) costs less than a shrink-wrapped pack of 4, small spud-like things...
