Choshu ’·B

Feudal daimyo domain located in present-day Yamaguchi prefecture, at the Western tip of Honshu.

In 1866, samurai from Choshu and Satsuma allied to fight the Shogunal armies and establish the Meiji Restoration.

Famous samurai from Choshu who went on to become Meiji statesmen include Ito Hirobumi (1841-1909) and Yamagata Aritomo (1838-1922).
